Job Summary Assist dentist, set up equipment, prepare patient for treatment, and keep records. General Responsibilities Prepare patient, sterilize or disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, and assist dentist during dental procedures. Record treatment information in patient records. Expose dental diagnostic x-rays. Take and record patient’s medical and dental histories and vital signs. Assist dentist in management of medical or dental emergencies. Provide postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist. Order and monitor dental supplies and equipment inventory. Fabricate temporary restorations or custom impressions Take impressions for study models and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts. Pour, trim, and polish casts. Clean and polish removable appliances. Perform other related duties as needed. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality dental care to children and ensuring a positive and friendly atmosphere in our practice. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. -Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current oral health status. -Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort. -Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs. -Assist with chairside procedures by providing four-handed dentistry support to the dentist for efficient treatment delivery. -Maintain accurate and detailed records, documenting treatment plans, patient responses, and clinical findings. -Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and comply with all regulations. -Assist with administrative tasks as needed. Qualifications: -Valid Registered Dental Hygienist license in Alberta. -BLS Certification. -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. -Compassionate and patient-focused. -Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. -Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment. Pediatric experience not mandatory, but considered an asset.
